Many of you have been part of the Media 5 Mile Race for many years and wouldn’t miss this fun day of community involvement.
In an effort to update our volunteer records and to invite others to join us, please take a few minutes to complete the brief online form below to assist us in a smooth day. Phone and email information will be kept confidential.

Review and planning begins the day after the race. Always striving to improve our event we welcome feedback and suggestions.
There are many ways to get involved with the Media 5 Mile Race – here are a few opportunities:
Registration
- Pre-Race Day Bib Pickup
TUESDAY, JUNE 18 5:00-8:00pm
Media Community Center, 3rd & Jackson Streets
(Parking lot accessed from 4th Street, behind Media Borough Hall) - Race Day Bib Pickup
FRIDAY, JUNE 21 5:00-6:30pm
Veterans Square at Front Street (near Courthouse)
Please arrive 30 minutes early to assist with setting up and preparing for the runners.
Race Marshalls
Marshals stand along the entire race course, at each intersection, to protect and guide the runners throughout the race course. They are very valuable to our race, and without them we cannot hold or start the event.
Volunteers that are signing up to be Marshals need to come to the Parlor Room in the Media Borough Hall building, located at 301 N. Jackson St., Media, Pa. 19063, and sign in.
Sign in begins after 4:30 P.M. on race day Friday, June 21, 2024, please arrive between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to receive your assigned location, your race/volunteer t-shirt, any special instructions for the day, and reflective vest; there will be a volunteer coordinator located there to assist you and answer any questions that you may have.
PLEASE be at your assigned locations no later than 6:30 p.m. The race normally ends between 8:00 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. (latest).
Water Tables
The Media 5 Mile Race, Inc. has two authorized water tables/locations. These tables are located on the West and the East sides of the course, and volunteers are there to distribute water to the runners as they run by.
If you and your coworkers, friends, or family would like to volunteer together, this may be the place for you. Please sign in at the same location as the Marshals, to receive your assignments and instructions.
Finish Line Greeters
Volunteers are needed to greet the runners at the finish line, distributing water and medals to each of the finishers. Please sign in at the same location as the Marshals.
Kids Free Fun Run
Volunteer at the free Kids Fun Run. Volunteers are needed to assist with the Kids run/race. That event begins at 6:00 p.m. on Barrall Field, at the corners of Front & Edgemont St’s., on the field.
Volunteers are needed to help with sign in, gathering waiver and registration forms, distribute t-shirts, participate with judging the race, and also assist with distribution of awards at the completion; please arrive no later than 5:15p.m. to assist with set up and coordination.
Volunteers please sign in at the same location as the Marshals.
Post Race Award Ceremony
Volunteers needed post race and at the award ceremony. These volunteers are needed to assist in handing out awards and prizes to the winners of each category, post race; this is located at the stage at Veterans Square and Front St.
Also volunteers are needed to assist in breaking down tables and supplies on Veteran’s Square, if available at the conclusion of the evening.
